Samba Support

For PCB products, we have made the decision not to support Samba. If we determine an issue is related to the Samba environment, it will be closed by Customer Support. This decision was influenced by the following factors:

• We have observed Samba failures with MGC applications, primarily related to time stamping and locking, that could compromise your data.
• The fragmented nature of the Samba product (i.e. many different versions available from Samba.org and the platform vendors) makes support difficult.
• Fully qualifying even one specific configuration of Samba is a resource-intensive effort, and there are a multitude of configurations in the market.
• Defects and/or limitations of the Samba implementation could constrain our ability to provide advanced solutions within our products, especially around concurrency.
