A site is defined as a network of computer workstations connected by coaxial or fiber optic cable and located within a half-mile radius. Mentor Graphics assigns a site number to each site for tracking purposes, called a Site ID.
Each site requires:
- Access to a CD-ROM drive in order to load Mentor Graphics software.
- A Platform Starter Kit for each supported platform type (one kit per platform type per site). The Platform Starter Kit contains Mentor Graphics application software and install software.
- A System Manager Documentation Set, available to new sites at no charge, which explains how to install software, how to get online documentation and how we recommend customers manage their environment.
Telecommuting
You can now access the Mentor Graphics software installed at your primary work site on a temporary basis while working from home or traveling. The telecommuting option is available if you sign an addendum to your license agreement.
Moving hardware among sites
If you're planning to move workstation hardware from one site to another, call the local Mentor Graphics office to update your records and make sure contractual obligations are being met. Then call the appropriate hardware support vendor to arrange the move.
Need to correct site information
If you've recently moved or reorganized and the address, contact name(s) or phone number(s) are incorrect for your site, submit an address change at My Profile. If you have any problems, please contact your local SupportCenter for help.
